IMMERSIVE AUDIO
JÖRMUNGANDR – THE SNAKE THAT SWALLOWED THE EARTH
Immersive composition in five acts for 187 speakers and 5 floors
3rd year exam project at Sonic College, where I created an immersive story and composition evolving around Norse mythology and the Midgard Serpent.
The piece goes through five distinct acts: Introduction of the serpent, the Ritual, the Sacrifice, Armageddon and finally Rebirth and the valkyries.
Since starting at Sonic College I have wanted to do a piece that divided the building into its distinct layers of height, but also tell a story at the same time.
To guide the process I picked five reference tracks (one for each act of the composition) and started piecing it together with the help of some vocalists and a hurdy-gurdy player.
The system in the atrium consists of 187 Meyer Sound speakers and a bunch of Galaxy processors running Spacemap Go, all being controlled by a QLab session running on a remote-desktopped Mac Mini, which ensured a lot of flexibility but also a massive challenge for implementation, as all audio had to be exported from the DAW, imported and sequenced in QLab as well as triggering the spatialisation and snapshot cues in Spacemap Go.
Furthermore, as the building is in use during daytime for classes and lectures, we were only able to work on our compositions from 16:00-08:00 so as not to disturb faculty and other students.
The audio is a binaural recording of the listening sweet spot (3rd floor) and though it will never be able to fully convey the space, it gives you a rough idea.
The piece will also be converted into a 9.1.6 Dolby Atmos mix, to be played before concerts at Ideal Bar in Copenhagen in autumn/winter 2026.
More information on the whole system here: Stouenborg.dk
VIBRO YOGA CPH
Custom audio & vibration journeys in Dolby Atmos for Vibro Yoga CPH, the world’s first vibroacoustic yoga studio.
Since early 2025 I have composed, produced and mixed so-called Vibration Showers for a custom-built 6.1.4 system and 28 transducers in the floor, as well as assisted with system setup, calibration and developed production and playback workflows.
PODCAST
SEX FOR MÆND
A podcast in Danish with honest and heartfelt conversations between men about sex, sexuality, insecurities, experiences and everything else surrounding the topic.
27 episodes published and the project is currently on hiatus.
The podcast is a co-creation between my friend and host Anton Wrisberg and myself.
My roles consists of planning, recording, editing, mixing, mastering, jingles and publishing online.
PERISKOP
2nd year group exam project at Sonic College.
A single episode of a storytelling podcast about how a former Soviet Cold War submarine was acquired from Mikhail Gorbachev by the city of Kolding and converted into a youth activation programme in the 90s.
My roles mainly included project management, storyboarding, researching, reporting and conducting interviews in the field.
The trailer is edited and sound designed by me along with additional voice recording.
BRAND WORK
RONNING “THE URBAN HIKER”
Sound design for the London-based menswear brand Ronning.
Accompanying sound design and SFX for campaign film shared on social media platforms.
HUS FORBI BRAND AUDIO
1st year exam at Sonic College.
We were tasked with creating a complete sound identity for the street newspaper and organisation working towards improving the lives and awareness of homeless and formerly homeless people in Denmark.
I analysed the organisation’s story, current audience and visual identity, and based my creative process on a number of keywords.
With the music and podcast trailer I aimed to reach the audience Hus Forbi does not currently have a strong affiliation with (men above the age of 40), rather than creating for the audience they already have (well-educated woman above the age og 50).
SALOMON BRAND AUDIO
Practice case at Sonic College.
An exercise in analysing a well-known brand’s identity, existing sound, target audience and market share, and then composing sound based on that information.
We composed a piece of brand music that would typically be used for product video, two takes on a sound logo and a few UI/UX-sounds for Salomon’s now defunct bootwarmer app.
GAME AUDIO
SPACE GAME
2nd year exam project at Sonic College.
An exercise in working in Unity and Fmod, implementing sounds, scoring and basic game design and programming.
A raw game with no visual design and basic mechanics was provided and I did all the design, sound and modifications.
Note: The first minute of the video is blacked out on purpose as the sound is meant to introduce the setting of the game.
WHAT THE GOLF?
Launch Trailer re-design
Application project for Sonic College.
Every year students applying for the Sound Design degree at Sonic College needs to compose/sound design for a selected piece of media with only 48 hours to finish (along side a couple of other tasks).
I decided not to watch the original launch trailer so I would not be influenced in my choices. I went for hectic and manipulated breakbeats and SFX to catch the chaotic vibe of the game.
KINGDOM 80s
Launch trailer re-composition
I composed new music for the Kingdom 80s launch trailer as part of a class with the original composer for the game.
The original video was provided for the composition assignment, but the company did not wish to have multiple versions published online, hence this audio-only version.
FIELD RECORDING
THE AWAKENING OF THE FOREST BIRDS
Recorded just on the break of dawn in the Söderåsen National Park before the hustle and bustle of traffic, people and planes coming in and out of Copenhagen Airport (located merely 60-some kilometers away across the Øresund).
If you listen carefully you might also notice the drops of dew falling on the late spring forest floor.
There are many many days of unedited field recordings still on my hard drive and I hope to soon get some time to go through them and upload gradually.
OTHER
ONE CANNOT NOT INFLUENCE
2nd year exam project at Sonic College.
An exercise in sound art and interaction design, working with a multichannel speaker setup, Max4Live, Touchdesigner low frequency contact microphones and Arduinos.
The concept was to create a simulated natural setting wherein the movements of the audience affected the environment around them.
We did this by amplifying the footsteps with 2x LOM Geofon contact mics, a shotgun mic capturing sound and opening a gate for synthesized noise, a motion sensor in a birdhouse and a light sensor underneath a 3D-printed chainsaw activating irreversible sonic and visual distortion.
ESCAPE ROOM INTRO
Media production assignment at Sonic College.
We were tasked with creating an audio introduction to a hypothetical escape room, where a seemingly idyllic place turns into a dystopian world run by artificial intelligence and the participants must find a way to escape before a poisonous gas kills them all.
MATTER
Application project for Sonic College.
“Matter” was part of my application for the Sound Design degree at Sonic College.
The video is kindly borrowed from the visual artist Sio on Instagram and the composition is made mostly with a Eurorack modular system, a harsh noise synth for the glitchy textures and plenty of post-processing.
